ARIA Details
The Aria Resort and Casino is the centerpiece of MGM Resorts International CityCenter development and includes The Aria Poker Room located just off the main entrance to the valet and self parking plaza. The Aria Poker Room is 24 tables, all equipped with automatic shufflers. Restrooms, snack bar, sports book, and self parking are all located within a few yards of the poker room. The Aria Poker Room has a dedicated poker room cashier cage, an elevated top section for high limit games as well as 'Ivey's Room' for very high stakes. It is common to see many televised professional players playing 300/600 Mix or higher in Ivey's Room.
The most common games spread at The Aria Poker Room include 1/3NLHE, 2/5NLHE, 5/10NLHE, 12/24 Mix, 1/3 & 2/5 Pot Limit Omaha, and 4/8LHE. The room also spreads very high limit poker, starting at 300/600 Mix most nights.
Aesthetically, the color palette of the Aria Poker Room is a mixture of dark browns, taupes, and deep reds. The Aria Poker Room chairs, with their multicolored backs, are swivel adjustable and on caster wheels. The room is surrounded by high definition flat screen televisions as well as a large metal playing card sculpture, which frames the entire venue.
Aria Poker Room utilizes a system for tracking the waiting lists, open seats, chip requests, and players earned comps. All players swipe at the table by presenting their MGM Resorts M Life card to the dealer upon arrival. All time is accounted for, and all open seats are automatically tracked at the brush podium. The audio system in the room allows for patrons outside of the room to hear their name being called, and soft music plays on all overhead speakers.
Regarding room organization, the venue is divided into three distinct areas. The main poker room floor encompasses 18 tables, which line the rail and allows for walk-by traffic for game observance. The elevated top section includes 5 tables and is usually reserved for high limit poker, starting at 5/10NLHE as well as the 12/24 Mix. In the center of the room is Ivey's Room (named after Phil Ivey), which is reserved for very high stakes poker.
The Aria Poker Room offers a $2 per hour comp rate on their MGM Resorts.. These earned comps can be used for tableside foodservice (offered 24 hours a day), or can be printed and used for many restaurants within the property.
The Aria Poker Room cocktail service offers complimentary Fiji water, frozen drinks, energy drinks, and most varieties of top shelf liquor and mixed drinks. Tableside food delivery is also available 24 hours a day for all guests and can be paid with comps using the MGM Resorts M Life card.

Are we missing something?
Hello all and welcome to our new feature: The Omaha 8 Surgery – the place where we answer your questions about Omaha hi lo. We begin with a question from Daniel B. of Dallas, Texas. ‘I’m looking forward to my first ever trip to Vegas next week. Can you tell me where is the best place to play Omaha hi lo poker in Vegas?
Thank you Daniel for our very first question. I (Iggy) try to visit Vegas at least once a year and I’m a very big fan of The Orleans. A couple of miles off the strip, in my view it’s the best place to play Omaha hi lo poker in Vegas. If you play at the Orleans then you can expect friendly dealers who know the game inside out, a great tournament structure and round the clock Omaha 8 cash games (usually played at $4/$8). There are also twice weekly 08 and a weekly HORSE tournament. See here for the latest tournament schedule.

I also rate The Venetian very highly. One of the most popular poker rooms on the strip, the venue is plush, the dealers high quality and the choice of games varied. Most days you can find $4/8 and $8/16 cash games running. On weekends the game may play up to $30/60. The only thing it lacks in my view is a regular 08 tournament.

Neither Alexis23o or I have played Omaha hi lo poker outside Vegas but if you are interested in options outside LV, please have a look at the comprehensive thread from our friends at Two Plus Two. There is a wide choice of games and limits from across the United States. All we need to do now is spread the word to Europe.
